Vintage styling

One of my favourite relaxations is to style and take photographs.

Here are a few pictures from this week.

Wendy Patterson macaron teacupI bought these lovely tiny English china tea cups from Halchemy Designs

at The Works Glebe, where I also sell my own Greeting cards.

French style macarons were purchased from a local cafe:)

My inspiration

Wendy Refvvv

My inspiration comes in many forms but these vintage French button cards

are some of my favourite pieces of ephemera. I have had them for many years

and they are a cherished part of my collection, found in an antique shops in Australia and from France.

I have used them in many collages over the years.

The “Mode” font was the inspiration behind the Mulberry Muse logo!

Mulberry Blog Banner 2013

The card below has my illustration of Marie Antoinette collaged with vintage ephemera

it includes the “Mode” font and other bits and pieces of my original artwork.

Vintage tin cake stand

tin stand by Wendy Paula PattersonIt took a number of months to find this collection of lovely French vintage brioche and

pastry tins to make my eclectic stand for cakes or vintage bits and pieces.

With a little help from my home handy man it all came together & looks rather lovely.

At the moment I am using it to store buttons, lace and vintage sewing ephemera.

Mirror, Mirror on the chalk board wall

who is the fairest of them all…

It is my 6th Anniversary today of selling online.

It has been quite a roller coaster and we have come a long way.

My first little shop Mulberry Muse opened on etsy on June 11th 2007.

It is exciting to see so many of my designs licensed and sold all around the world,

as books, diaries, notebooks, wall art, calendars and cards.

I have been truly blessed..

in celebration a little fun…

a discarded mirror, a little Annie Sloan’s chalk paint and some creative blackboard, chalkboard, art.

This is my second piece of kitchen wall art, the first can be seen here

It is difficult to photograph a mirror without unfortunately putting oneself in the image,

after taking it I realised all the breakfast things were still unwashed and in full view!
